Regiment of Sant Narcís

A Germano-Spanish unit formed in the later part of the WSS, the "Catalans War" of 1713-14. Daniel Alfonsea got in touch with a request to feature his group so here we are. Check out the facebook page link below.
Some of these photos are of a ceremony in Barcelona, last September, 11th - Catalonia's National Day. The others are of an exhibition in Sant Ferran Castle, in Figueres, just three weeks ago, a much more convenient background, this being a XVIII century fortification (albeit of a later date than the period we depict). You can see the troops, the officers, the colours; some drill, some ceremony.

What a great looking unit, love the flag and the stripy waist sashes.

Hello,
Thank you!
The flag shows Saint Narcissus, flies and all (there is a legend that says flies came out in swarms from Narcissus's sepulchre in Girona, and plagued its besiegers).
The sashes display the imperial colours, featured in the Austrian flags up to early XX century.
